Delhi 2 Dublin’s mastermind Tarun Nayar is unveiling his debut solo album for your listening and dancing pleasure. Supported by Jacob Cino (Third Eye Tribe), the fresh sounds of MicroBongo and anchored by djs Caçadora and Rowan, this is not one you want to miss!

Thank Delhi 2 Dublin for having a small break in their otherwise intense worldwide touring schedule to allow time for Tarun Nayar to showcase his beautiful new album live for Canadian audiences this spring, with dates starting in Nelson on April 7th. With over 10 years of travelling the globe, collecting sounds and experiences, Tarun compiled 22o of Beatitude, his first solo project, set for release on March 1st. Last year alone, Delhi 2 Dublin played over 150 shows in North America and across the world. Despite the jam-packed schedule, Tarun admits, “It can be brutal, and there isn’t a whole lot of sleep involved, but it’s hugely inspiring to be meeting so many people in so many places, and to get on stage and do what I love night after night.” As a departure from the D2D live experience, expect Tarun’s show to be a multimedia-heavy exploration of the album’s material. Through live visuals and performances, the show will bring to life the people and places that inspired Tarun in his travels. Also touring with Tarun will be visual artist, Electrabelle, master percussionist and drummer Dave ‘Sharmaji’ Sharma (Sub Swara, NY) and glitch-hop duo BPM (Rup Sidhu and Nadia Chaney). The show promises to range from bhangra to drum’n’bass to chill-out. In order to give back to the people and places that have inspired him, Tarun has committed 50% of all the proceeds of 22o of Beatitude to charity. As he spends much of his time in Asia, a large portion of the funds will be directed towards building homes for the destitute, as well as supporting education, and social programs.

Since 1994 Jacob Cino has been refining his sound and expanding his knowledge and love of bass and dance culture as a producer, DJ, MC and Dancer. He has a long time love of Reggae, dancehall and dub that has led him to investigate other cultures and their musik and danse forms. Currently studying and performing traditional african dance as well as contemporary forms and Caribbean dances, Jacob has knowledge of Haitian, Jamaican, Cuban , Côte d'Ivoire, Congolese and Trinidadian form of dance and musik. Expressing the commonality and diversity of world musik in his Dj sets, one can expect to hear Dub, Dubstep, Coupe Decale, Dubby Dubstep, Rah Rah, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Digidancehall, Steppers, Soca, Soukous, Kuduro,original hybrids and everything in between. Expect to hear serious Bass and to wine up your waist. Returning to Thursday Ting, Jacob is bringing an arsenal of current "BIG TUNES!" as well as classics of dancehall and reggae. Bruk out n sweat it up!

açadora (Brazilian for huntress) is always on the prowl for new sweet beats from around the world. Her sets lean towards the organic, blending world roots rhythms with tasty electronic beats. She incorporates a heavy Jamaican dub influence in her sound spun with African, Brazilian, funk, Latin, and East Indian treats. Caçadora delivers these global vibrations with phat bass and serves them up inside glitch hop, dub, dancehall and progressive house beats -- subwoofer is a must. You'll see her droppin' bass grooves to make yo' booty move regularly at Sublime or catch one of Caçadora's sets every third Friday at the Reef, Victoria.
SPIRIT SHAKER PLAYSHOP: with Jacob Cino.
Warm up the mind and bodies for the evening we will start with a physical practice to help us arrive. Breath , stretch and Yoga postures to start with. To heat our bodies rhythm and dance will be introduced.Simple rhythmic movement based in African forms to help celebrate. Hopefully we will all have a bit of a sweat on by the end of class. Partner work might also make it's way into this one hour class of dancing and stretch. All levels welcome
Jacob Cino is a professional dancer and yoga teacher based in Montreal.
