Description:

We invite you to stand with us as we continue partnering with “Hands at Work in Africa” as they strive to reach 100,000 of the most vulnerable children across Southern Africa.
Our names are Tyler and Alicia Ralph.  We have been volunteering in South Africa and Zambia for 15 months over the last 3 years for a South African based NGO, Hands at Work in Africa.  In the time that we spent serving with Hands at Work, we had the incredible opportunity to become deeply connected with the mission and vision of this organization. As volunteers, we offered ourselves to do whatever was needed to support local men and woman who have given their lives to care for thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities. Our purpose was to use our skills and abilities to empower and equip leaders across Southern Africa.
Since returning from our last trip in May, we have both felt a very strong calling to go back to continue the work that we began. We now had not only heard about the challenges millions of people face in Southern Africa, we had actually seen and felt the pain many of them were experiencing.  For this reason we have recently made the decision to sell our home, leave our jobs and families and move back to Southern Africa (as full-time volunteers for Hands at Work) in order to fully dedicate the next few years to this transformative work.

Because Hands at Work is a non-profit organization which relies on people like us to volunteer, we need to be able to support ourselves completely during our time in Africa, and we can’t do it alone.  So we have arranged to hold a large Charity Gala at Fireside Grill in Royal Oak On Saturday November 5, 2011 in order to raise financial support.
