The Victoria Symposium will be facilitated by Dennis Lucarelli (from Salt Spring Island) -- we are in for an extraordinary inspiring event!
This event provides a transformative experience that empowers participants to respond to humanity’s current situation with action and informed, grounded optimism about our future.
Admission will be by Sliding Scale Suggested Donation ($15 - $45)...money will be used towards defraying the many costs of hosting the event - no one is making any money off of this!....and the remainder will be donated to (a) local environmental/social organization(s). SPACE WILL BE LIMITED TO 40 PEOPLE......please RSVP here....and be sure to do so officially!
The symposium brings together conscious, aware people who care about what's happening in the world, our community, and our families to explore a new global vision to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on earth.
The Symposium includes 87 minutes of video clips from philosophers, scientists, Nobel Laureates and grassroots organizers from all walks of life from the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. Your time at the is personal and participative with guided reflections, discussing your ideas and insights with others, and exploring what possibilities for the future call you, personally, into action.
The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium was created by the San francisco-based Pachamama Alliance and is a not-for-profit event. It is offered worldwide in over forty countries and more than 100,000 people who have attended.
The symposium came about in response to a call from the Achuar tribe of the Amazon rainforests of Ecuador and Peru to "change the dream of the modern world," a call which was first heard by the Pachamama Alliance, which had been helping indigenous tribes of the area defend their ancestral territory against the interest of loggers, oil companies and mining operations.
"It's fine that you've been helping us," said an Achuar elder, "but now, you need to go back to your world, the industrialized world of the North, and carry this message: your way of life threatens all of us, everything around us, the entire world that we refer to as 'Pachamama.'"
